| Once basing its economy on the logging industry, Moyie Springs is now most commonly recognized as a small resort town located at the mouth of the Moyie River. The forested site of the community’s settlement was discussed in the 1811 journal of explorer David Thompson and served as a trappers’ camp from 1832 until 1850. The town’s name comes from British Columbia and is a type of quartz. A post office has operated here since 1920. |
