| When the post office arrived here in 1900, the town’s first resident, Mr. Powell, applied for the name of Eagle. The moniker was rejected as there was already an Idaho town by that name. Lacking the gumption to completely change the name, Powell simply substitutued an “S” for the “E” to form Sagle. The post office agreed with his suggestion, and the town became an essential access point to the Glengary Ferry. |
