| Cascade Falls, located on the North Fork of the Payette River, used to be a spectacular site to behold. In 1948, when the dam was built, the falls became all but hidden by Cascade Reservoir. Nonetheless, the town of Cascade derived its name in 1912 from those original falls. Although a lumber mill was initially responsible for a large sector of the community’s economy, Cascade today relies on agriculture, ranching, and a significant tourism industry for sustenance. |
