In the isolated old mining town of Atlanta, the Historical Society has a mission of preserving the town’s heritage. The town’s jail built in 1910 now houses historic photos and artifacts of Rocky Bar and Atlanta from its mining heyday. Next door, a restored 1870s cabin provides visitors with a glimpse into early pioneer life on the Idaho frontier. The museum is open in the summer from 10 AM to 9 PM and year-round by appointment.
