The Canyon County Historical Museum is packed with a variety of historic memorabilia. Situated in the 1902 Oregon Short Line Depot listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum preserves the region’s heritage while educating both locals and visitors. In addition to old farm equipment, medical equipment, printing presses, newspapers dating to 1881, and historic photographs, the museum is also home to a 1940s era railroad caboose and a 1917 Steam Derrick. The museum is open from 1 PM to 5 PM Tuesday through Friday and 10 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays during the summer. In the winter, operating hours are 1 PM to 5 PM Tuesday through Friday and 11 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays. Admission is free, but donations are highly suggested.
