Yellow Pine
Pop. 35

Located fourteen miles from the famous Stibnite mines, Yellow Pine Basin was discovered in 1902 with Al Behne arriving as the first settler. More homesteaders soon arrived in response to the Thunder Mountain Boom of 1902-1907. The community of Yellow Pine was appropriately named after the abundant ponderosa pines characterizing the area. Serving as an early supply center to both miners and ranchers, Yellow Pine acquired a post office in 1906.
