Ketchum’s heritage is rooted in the mining industry, and visitors can catch a glimpse of early Lewis Ore Wagons on display at the unstaffed Ore Wagon Museum. These high, narrow wagons loaded with millions of dollars of silver and lead were towed in strings from the area’s mines to the Wood River Valley smelters. Displayed behind glass most of the year for passerby to peek at, the wagons are the prominent feature in the area’s annual Wagon Days and Parade.
