| The small community of May lies in the heart of the Pahsimeroi Valley farming district. The post office was established in the spring of 1897. The wife of postmaster, Rudolph Wright, chose the name at the request that the name be short. Since the application was made in May, the name seemed appropriate to her, and the postal department wholeheartedly agreed. |
