| Filer was established in 1903 at the end of the Oregon Short Line RR, and is named after Walter Filer, general manager of the Twin Falls Canal Company. Initially, there were two small towns lying close together, Eldridge and Filer. The two eventually merged into one, and a post office was established in 1907. |
