Since its inception in 1986, the goal of the Idaho International Folk Dance Festival has been to promote cultural exchange between Idaho and countries across the world. Growing in leaps and bounds since its debut, this world-renowned festival has been rated as one of North America’s top 100 events by the American Business Association. Up to 300 dancers perform annually, and an average of ten different countries are represented each summer. Previous dance teams have traveled from Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, North America, and island areas across the world. The festival includes opening ceremonies, a parade, street festivals, cultural classes, dance classes, a rodeo, and three full nights of spectacular dance performances.
