| Island Park Village is said to have been named for the neighboring islands of timber located on the high sagebrush plains. Incorporated in the late 1940s as a Swiss colony, Island Park owes its founding to the Arangee Company. Spanning 35 miles along US Highway 20, Island Park includes several lodges and inns that house the many recreational enthusiasts who travel to the area. Besides camping, hiking, and world-class fishing, 600 miles of groomed snowmobiling trails await visitors to the area’s giant caldera landscape. |
