| In 1880, settlers began arriving here. Lorenzo Snow, once president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, serves as the town’s namesake. In 1900, development of an Oregon Short Line Railroad Bridge across the Snake River spurred area growth, and a post office was established in 1901. |
