| This small community was originally called Garden Grove and is said to be named after Wyman Parker, an early Mormon Bishop, and Isaac Parker, the town’s postmaster in 1900. Others claim that the “Parker” in the name is drawn from Adelbert Parker who served as postmaster of the nearby Egin community in 1880. Nonetheless, when Garden Grove became the larger of the two settlements, Garden Grove residents relocated a few miles away from Egin and established a post office under the name Parker. |
