Bern
Pop. 50

In 1880, John Kuntz and his family of eight sons and two daughters, along with George Alleman and Alleman’s children and grandchildren, migrated to southeastern Idaho and established a new Mormon settlement. Possessing Swiss roots, these first settlers christened their town after Bern, Switzerland, and a post office operated in the area from 1901 to 1927.
