The South Bannock County Historical Center and Museum is committed to preserving and presenting local heritage in southern Idaho. The informative rotating exhibits focus on regional history, including the history of small communities such as Swan Lake, Virginia, and McCammon. The permanent “Trails, Trappers, Trains, and Travelers” exhibit explores how Shoshone and Bannock Indians, mountain men and the fur trade, 1800s wagon trains, the railroad, and tourists shaped South Bannock County into what it is today. The museum is open 12 PM to 5 PM daily with free admission.
